2013 in review

2013 was packed full of so many special memories for Landyn and I. But through it all, the highlight of it has to be Josh entering our lives. Something inside me changed the day I met him. He instantly added color to our world, and continues to do so day after day.

Most importantly, I learned this year that every family is unique in their own way. There is no definition of what a family should look like. I am left with a full heart at the end of each day, and to me I have it all. I cant wait to see what 2014 has in store.

Happy New Years to you and yours. I’ll be back in 2014.

Road trip to Redmond, Oregon

When family needs a helping hand, you do whatever it takes to make it happen. It’s one of the many things I love about Josh… his willingness to serve. He’ll go to the ends of the earth for those he loves. If you look up heart of gold in the dictionary his picture would be next to it, and this will forever go a long ways with me.

Josh moved his mom up to Redmond, Oregon this past weekend and I went along for the ride. 34 hours of driving in three days and I was quickly reminded why it works with him. He is patient. He is kind. He makes me laugh harder than anyone can. He puts me at ease. I can spend two days in the car with him completely bored, and there is still no place I’d rather be.

Josh and his beautiful momma

We got to see his mom’s gorgeous new home in Redmond and spend the day playing tourist and checking out the neighboring city of Bend, Oregon. Bend reminded me a lot of the town where I grew up but less people and more green. It’s always fun visiting new places and seeing other senses of community. Whenever I am traveling, I always remove myself from what I’ve always known and imagine myself doing life there. While I love where I live more than anything, I think I will forever have a piece of me that will always wonder what life would be like somewhere else. With my family of course.

Josh’s mom made us her homemade chocolate chip cookies… I’ve gotta share this recipe.

We’re back home with Landyn and ready to conquer this week. I still feel like I am in a moving vehicle and am trying to get my bearings back. What has been your longest road trip? Do any of you have any suggestions?

Have you entered our big September group giveaway? We are giving away a $450 prize package. Don’t miss it.

Have a great week!

Our Weekend in photos

celebrated her birthday early with Pop Pops

We spent this past weekend settling into life a bit. Landyn has been on this complete high since the new move. It’s almost been an overstimulation of sorts but surly that will pass. Between puppies, a pool, orchard, land, a new two wheeler… it’s all game. It’s funny how kids feed off life and situations because I can already see the happiness that this move has brought her. While I tried to create the most normalcy for her during the past two years, something about our current situation is different. We found that missing piece and she is beaming. And her momma is too.

Josh and I are off to Mammoth Lakes {California} on Friday for a long weekend with some friends. I can’t wait for a little vaca with my man. We were there last year for our “mutual friends wedding” so it will be so awesome to go up there as a couple this time. I’ll be posting updates on instagram.

Also, I have a few sponsor spots available for August and I would love to help grow your shop, business, or blog. You can view some stats here or email me for more information and to view my media kit. I love this community and would love to chat more.

For you, Love me

A little bit of what was on my heart today in case you missed it on instagram…

Once upon a time I made a list of qualities I looked for in the perfect man. Never did I think I’d find a guy that would fit each one. We’ve been together 6 months today and that Dad of mine was right. The perfect guy for me does exist. I love you Josh Baltimore.

And thank you all for following this journey with us! Your comments mean so much to me.
