Landyn’s Puppy Paw-ty

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a party. Can you believe our ELMO bash was 3 years ago?

My sweet little Landyn turned 5 years old last week, and without hesitation wanted a “puppy themed” party.

So a Puppy Paw-ty we had.

Southern California is in a horrible drought and hasn’t seen rain in 6 months, and it decided to RAIN the day of our OUTDOOR party. We managed though, and the kids could have cared less. It was all around an awesome day with our family and friends.

Warning: Extremely picture heavy. I didn’t want to leave out any details.

As an activity, I planned on having an agility course for the kids (think, dog show), but last minute Landyn decided she didn’t want any part of that. Sometimes less is more, yes? Instead, the kids had three acres to roam, a trampoline, pinata, treats, and a fun photo booth. I set up little buckets of balls to go along with the theme as well. We had a puppy adoption area where the kids could take home a puppy as a party favor. I got stuffed puppies from the 99 cent only store and put them in favor boxes tied up with ribbon. The kids loved them.

I kept the menu super simple with hot “dogs”, “dog gone good melon”, “beggin chips”, and “puppy punch”. We had an assortment of sweet treats on the dessert table and I was sure to have “doggy bags” on hand to take treats to go.

A special thank you to my amazing fiance who helped make this day happen and my last minute photo booth visions come to light. And my family that came over the morning of and helped pull the whole party together minutes before guests arrived.

Another successful party in the books.

Happy 5th Birthday Landyn Noella

5 years ago today, I became a momma to the most perfect baby girl.

5 years ago today my life was forever changed as I began wearing my heart outside my body.

5 years ago today, my purpose in life finally became clear and never again would I know life without her in it.

You are strong willed like your Dad, yet sensitive like your Mommy.

You are a natural creator, imaginative, gentle, and bright.

You rule the roost around here, and love those puppies of yours big.

You are inquisitive beyond your years… Your brain is always moving.

You’d prefer a new outfit to toys, and laundry day and shopping are your favorite.

You LOVE our Joshy way more than I ever expected, and it warms my heart to see that relationship grow.

Your Mimi, Pop Pops, and Aunt G are your whole world as is all your family. You have so many to love.

You love play dates, bagels for breakfast, dancing, and country music.

You want so badly to be a big sister, and I just know you will own that role.

You stretch me in ways I never thought possible and I am thankful for that.

I love you big girl. Kindergarden here we come.

Happy Birthday to my Man

It this guys 32nd birthday today!

And Landyn couldn’t be more excited. The girl likes any reason to celebrate.

But our Joshy is a low key birthday boy. He doesn’t like the spotlight, he doesn’t like cake, and he doesn’t like presents. My dad told me celebrating birthdays is a girl thing…..Psssshhhhh.

So we will celebrate Josh with a group of our closest friends tonight and force him to like birthdays. Because he’s our favorite and 32 years is worth celebrating.

Love you low key lover. Happiest of days to you.

I am not sure why Landyn’s birthday is an emotional one for me…

Maybe it’s having been away from her for two days leading up to today. Maybe it’s another year older and how far we’ve come. Regardless, it’s safe to say my last night in Mammoth was spent reflecting on the past four years and so much change that has taken place. Maybe it’s me clinging tightly to the right now and wanting her forever as my baby.

4 years ago today I was given a title that forever changed the way I viewed life. Landyn made me “momma” and gave me a gift that any mom knows, proves day after day to be your most beautiful challenge. A gift that involves having your heart walk around outside your body…every single day. It’s a learn as you go, good day bad day, patience is a virtue kind of thing.

And today my fiery, determined, happy spirited, energetic, funny, adaptable, animal loving little lady turns 4. She has blossomed so much in this past year and as a mother there is nothing more you could wish for.

Happy Birthday Landyn. I always knew it was my lives purpose to be a momma and having just YOU these past four years has allowed me to give you a special kind of love. You have taught me so much about life and continue to stretch me daily.

I love you.
