Rather than spending this Mother’s Day in search of rest and relaxation, I knew this weekend had better things in store. I kept Landyn home from her Dad’s and just soaked her up. Every sentence, every touch, every smell… I counted my blessings because today is a gift.
What a week it has been. We celebrated new life Monday night as my dear friend from high school welcomed her first born, woke up Tuesday to the tragic news of my friend Jacqui’s sweet Ryan Cruz, quietly celebrated my 31st birthday on Wednesday, held beautiful Siena Thursday for the first time and just took her all in, and now today the day we honor “Mom’s”, I am sitting back to reflect on it all. What a week it has been…
Today, I also had the privilege to celebrate my beautiful mom. While life doesn’t provide you with a set of instructions, it does give you a mom and I am so thankful for that. My mom has taught me so much about life, but most importantly, how to be a momma. And she is the best Mimi to my Landyn. We are so blessed. I love you mom!
Happy Mother’s day to anyone that has ever loved a child. And to all those that have lost a mother or a child too soon, you are being lifted up in prayer today and always. We love you.
