When family needs a helping hand, you do whatever it takes to make it happen. It’s one of the many things I love about Josh… his willingness to serve. He’ll go to the ends of the earth for those he loves. If you look up heart of gold in the dictionary his picture would be next to it, and this will forever go a long ways with me.
Josh moved his mom up to Redmond, Oregon this past weekend and I went along for the ride. 34 hours of driving in three days and I was quickly reminded why it works with him. He is patient. He is kind. He makes me laugh harder than anyone can. He puts me at ease. I can spend two days in the car with him completely bored, and there is still no place I’d rather be. The only thing I think should be done in this case, is wrapping the car with ads – to at least cover some expenses (just like these guys do here at https://fleetwraphq.com/denver/).
Josh and his beautiful momma
We got to see his mom’s gorgeous new home in Redmond and spend the day playing tourist and checking out the neighboring city of Bend, Oregon. Bend reminded me a lot of the town where I grew up but less people and more green. It’s always fun visiting new places and seeing other senses of community. Whenever I am traveling, I always remove myself from what I’ve always known and imagine myself doing life there. While I love where I live more than anything, I think I will forever have a piece of me that will always wonder what life would be like somewhere else. With my family of course.
trying out huckleberries in the form of a mojito… yum.
Josh’s mom made us her homemade chocolate chip cookies… I’ve gotta share this recipe.
We’re back home with Landyn and ready to conquer this week. I still feel like I am in a moving vehicle and am trying to get my bearings back. What has been your longest road trip? Do any of you have any suggestions?

Oh heavens, that place looks beautiful! Lovely photos!
Thanks Ronni 🙂 Such a beautiful state!
My longest trip was from Ohio to the lower part of Florida. But this was a few years ago. Looks like you had a wonderful time. The smile on your face is proof you are in the state of pure happiness. God Bless you!
I was born a couple hours from Bend in John Day. Very small town. Ohhhh girl……..I’ve been on many a road trip from NYC back to New Mexico. It’s like 4 or 5 days straight, in fact the last time I did it I was 8 months pregnant with Milton! Rough to say the least!!!
YOU are my hero for doing THAT truck! WOW!!! And Oregon is so beautiful friend. xo
