Cream Cheese French Toast Souffle
1 loaf french toast bread
8 oz soft cream cheese
1 c milk
2/3 c half and half
8 eggs
1 c maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla
powdered sugar
Directions:
1. Cut bread into 1/2 inch pieces. Place in a glass baking pan
2. Mix, eggs, cream cheese, milk, half and half, 1/2 c maple syrup, and vanilla together.
3. Pour mixture over bread and refrigerator overnight.
{in the morning}
4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
5. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes
6. Pour remaining 1/2 c maple syrup over souffle and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
7. ENJOY

Holy Souffle…oh how I’m in complete love and just want to dig in!!!!!
Made this last weekend – I think I need to play around with it a bit yet. Not all of my bread soaked up the egg mixture by just pouring it over the top. I may try folding it together in a bowl and then putting it in the pan next time. I also had issues with the cream cheese not really mixing – so had little white specks all over the top. And lastly, I cooked it longer than directed and it still seemed under-done. I’m want to try again because I love the concept of the recipe, but was totally bummed it flopped for me.
