Halloween Perspectives

MY how life has changed since becoming a Momma.

There are the obvious every day changes…

Pure exhaustion. Messy home. Mounds of laundry.

But then there are the not so obvious changes,

that I sometimes forget.

Waking up this morning,

and seeing all the crazy costume parties my friends went to over the weekend,

put things into perspective.

Sure, a part of me was jealous,

{reminiscing on the good ole days}.

But then I stop and think,

how I am onto a whole new chapter of my life.

A whole new season that calls me to put MY energy into Landyn.

A season where I shape HER childhood and teach her about the Halloween spirit.

While I could very well join my friends and partake in the crazy festivities,
my struggle with balance becomes exposed.
All the effort that goes into late night parties,
makes me tired.
{and I am already exhausted}
Call me bah humbug
I call it reality.

This year,

I put my energy into dressing up this face.

I am celebrating Halloween thru her eyes.

Preschool parades.

Pumpkin carvings.

Sugar comas.

Trick or treating.

Costume parties.

Block parties.

Yes, our neighbors go ALL out.

Watching a bunch of grown adults get into the spirit,

truly puts it all in perspective…

We do it for them.

Watching my big girl hold her own in her piggy costume makes it ALL worth it.

Yes, she is mine.

…….

SO tell me Momma’s how do YOU celebrate Halloween?

So cute Lindsay!! I could never go out To an adult party these days. Sadly I’m at work but thank god my husband is home taking them trick or treating. So tonight I’ll be celebrating by saving lives.

She looks super duper cute! We went to my mom’s neighborhood and they go all out too! My poor toddler was scared out of her mind, like shaking scared. So I ended up staying back while my mom took my 6 year old trick or treating 🙂
I sometimes miss the good old days too… And I am like you, those late night parties just make me SOOOOO tired!!!!

What a terrific post of perspective! Im a new momma as well…my baby is almost six months old! Lets just say, our Halloween was a blast because of her! Not this biggest fan of the holiday, but now I can see why things can be way more fun with kidlins! Cant wait till she starts walking and can knock on the door next year, ha. Your little girl is adorable and great work on her costume! SO cute!
